Consumers make many decisions during the buying process. One decision that a propane consumer makes is whether they will lock in their price for the heating season or let the price ride the market. Both methods have their benefits and risks. Keeping up with propane prices is a full time job and requires a lot of research and time. What if your propane company was to offer you a program that minimized the risk inherent with both methods of pricing and took the apprehension and worry out of the process?
If you’ve been reading our quarterly newsletters, you’ve seen our focus on innovation. The innovative process is critical to meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations and our own. One example of what has spawned from that process was the recently released, proprietary vapor management program, which gives our customers choices they’ve never had before. It is with great excitement that we introduce another new, proprietary product to our customers.
Our new product is called “The Range Program”. The range program is designed to be simple to understand and to give only our customers the chance to take advantage of its benefits. With it, you will have the option to lock in a price range instead of committing to either one fixed price or a flexible price for the next heating season. The range program gives you the best of both worlds.
When signed up on the range program your propane price will float between two prices; one high and one low. It will never go above the high price and never go below the low price. Why is this a great plan? It takes worry out of the equation, gives you flexibility and security all at the same time.
A couple of examples of how the range program could benefit you may be as follows: Let’s say you locked in a price for the heating season, but afterward the market falls. In this instance you would be stuck paying a higher price all season. Had you been enrolled in the range program you would have benefited from the soft market because your price would come down to some point between the high and low price. Another case could be a customer who selected a flexible price for the heating season. The price might have been low when the customer agreed to flexible pricing, but during the course of the heating season the market gained strength, causing the customer’s price to go higher with no limit. Had this customer signed up for the range program, at least they would know where their price would stop.
Another great thing about the range program is it’s FREE to sign up. All you have to do is to let us know that you want the range program and sign an agreement for one heating season. There’re no hidden fees to worry about. It’s that simple!

Mike Setty - Mike is one of Litter Quality Propane’s most versatile employees. Mike holds a Class “A” Hazmat Commercial Drivers License which allows him to drive any vehicle in the fleet from the big transport tractor trailers to the service vehicles and everything in between. Mike has been with the company for almost five years and continues to expand his knowledge of the propane industry by enrolling in certified training programs every year. You may have seen Mike in the cylinder delivery truck as that has been his primary responsibility but most recently Mike has developed into a highly skilled service technician. Don’t be surprised to see Mike behind the wheel of the transport, in a bobtail delivery truck or installing a tank in your neighbor’s back yard because this guy can do it all! Mike is married to Chasity and they have one son Michael. In his leisure Mike enjoys hunting, fishing and archery.

Ingredients:
- 12 slices bacon
- 2/3 cup margarine
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 7 cups milk
- 4 large baked potatoes, peeled & cubed
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 1 1/4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions:
- Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium heat until browned. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
- In a stock pot or Dutch oven, melt the margarine over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth. Gradually stir in milk, whisking constantly until thickened. Stir in potatoes and onions. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Mix in bacon, cheese, sour cream, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted.
